About Us

The Centre for Education Technology (CET) at IIT Palakkad serves as the focal point of computing resources, which are shared by all the departments and offices of the Institute. CET manages and operates the Institute's core IT infrastructure, including high-performance computing resources, enterprise servers, data centres, computer labs and web services such as Moodle, Room Booking System, Institute Website, Admission Portals, Recruitment portals, Support portal and other portals.

The network facility is served by a 1 Gbps  internet connectivity through the NKN and 1 Gbps from BSNL. We also have 155Mbps failover connection from Railtel. It is the hub of the campus-wide network backbone and distributes internet connectivity throughout the campus via optical fiber  including hostels, enabling 24 X 7 internet access.

An IP-PBX for the intercom facility of the Institute is also housed here, which is equipped with VoIP telephone connectivity. The external connectivity is enabled through SIP trunk with MPLS VPN. The Centre also supports the CCTV surveillance system, biometric systems, and signage systems in the Institute.
